YOUNG Warrington Wolves forward Luke Thomas has been drafted into the Wales squad for the remainder of the Rugby League World Cup.
The prop, who turned 20 on Wednesday, has been added to John Kear’s group as a replacement for former Wire forward Ben Evans, who will miss the remainder of the tournament with a throat injury.
He has been included in the 19-man squad for the Group D clash against Tonga at St Helens’ Totally Wicked Stadium on Monday evening.
Former Latchford Albion junior Thomas came through the academy at The Halliwell Jones Stadium and was a regular for the club’s reserve team in 2022 before making his mark in the first team.
He made his senior Wire debut against Leeds Rhinos and finished the campaign with four first-team appearances, scoring a try in the final-day win at Salford Red Devils.
Before making his Warrington bow, he made his international debut for Wales in their mid-season Test against France.
