DARYL Clark will miss Warrington Wolves' clash with Salford Red Devils on Saturday.

The hooker needs more time to recover from the stomach injury that kept him out of Sunday's Magic Weekend win over Wigan Warriors and as such, he will be absent for the game at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

It raises a potential problem at dummy-half for The Wire, with Danny Walker (ankle) also rated as doubtful alongside prop Joe Philbin (leg).

However, there is better news on winger Josh Charnley, who took a knock to the head at St James' Park but finished the game.

"Daryl Clark won’t be available this week but Charners will be," head coach Steve Price said in his pre-match press conference.

"We’ve still got a few days to go but we’re still waiting on Danny Walker and Joe Philbin. We’ll know more on them in the next 24 hours.

"Other than that, we’re pretty good after a real high-intensity encounter.

"We’ve had two real tough encounters over the past couple of weeks which will stand us in good stead."

Price raised the possibility of several players who have missed out in recent weeks coming into the reckoning, with two games left of the regular season and with his side guaranteed to finish no lower than third in the Super League table.

"People like Blake Austin, Matty Ashton, Matt Davis – they’re very close," he said.

"They just missed out on the weekend and will certainly come into consideration for Saturday.

"There’s a few others that will come into consideration also, so we’re in a good place."
