WARRINGTON Wolves are back to winning ways – but not without a scare.

They spent most of the game in command of the scoreboard against London Broncos, but when Ugo Tison’s try reduced their lead to just six points inside the final quarter, nerves started to jangle.

In the end, Josh Drinkwater’s penalty kept The Wire at arm’s length, with the Broncos’ hopes of a famous win disappearing when Rhys Kennedy was sin-binned shortly after.

A much-changed Wire side, who were without some front-line players through a combination of injury and rotation, were in control at the break after tries from Rodrick Tai, Matty Ashton, Paul Vaughan and Toby King.

However, the Broncos simply wouldn’t go away having responded through Josh Rourke and Lewis Bienek before the break and Sam Davis after it, but eventually their spirit was broken and Ashton finished things off with another long-range try - the 100th of his career - on the hooter.
