WARRINGTON Wolves got their 2023 Super League season off to a stunning start on Thursday evening.

A superb display from Daryl Powell's men saw last season's Grand Finalists Leeds Rhinos blown away in a red-hot atmosphere at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The damage was done in a dominant first half in which The Wire racked up a 30-0 half-time lead.

Matt Dufty opened the scoring early on with tries following from Daryl Clark, Josh Thewlis, Danny Walker and debutant Sam Kasiano.

Leeds did at least avoid a nilling as Derrell Olpherts and Justin Sangare crossed after the break, but Wire kept their foot to the floor and added further tries from James Harrison and Greg Minikin to seal their highest-scoring win under Powell's leadership
