WARRINGTON Wolves celebrated Ben Currie’s Testimonial game with victory – but saw new signing Josh McGuire sent off.
Currie marked his special night with the game’s final try but in the aftermath, referee Marcus Griffiths appeared to show a red card in the direction of forward McGuire.
It mattered not in terms of the result as Currie and Peter Mata’utia’s tries helped The Wire make a decision push for victory in the final quarter.
Daryl Clark’s try had pulled Wire level after former Warrington players Josh Charnley and Gareth O’Brien had touched down to give the Leopards a half-time lead.
Stefan Ratchford scored Wolves’ only first-half try as they marked their first game of 2023 with victory.
