THE great and the good from the world of Warrington sport gathered at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on October 29, 2010, for the 17th annual Warrington Sports Personality Awards.
Hosted by the Warrington Guardian, the awards saw stars from a number of sports compete in 10 categories, with some of the winners going on to represent the town in the Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership Awards at Mere Golf and Country Club later in the month.

For the 2010 awards, the Guardian joined forces with the Warrington Borough Council Arts and Sports Engagement Team (ASET) to organise the event.
The awards, with Spire Cheshire Hospital as the main sponsor, included a three-course meal from Heathcotes, while raffle prizes included signed Warrington Wolves goodies, a Wolves season ticket and hospitality tickets to Bolton versus Newcastle - raising almost £800 for the Wolves Foundation and NSPCC Participation Through Sport.
A judging panel decided on the winners in nine of the categories.
The 10th award – Warrington Sports Personality Wolves Player of 2010 – was decided by public vote.
