ACHIEVING a hole-in-one does not happen often but one hot hitter is celebrating his seventh such success.

Former golf professional Jon Beesley from Grappenhall made it to seventh heaven with a stunning ace on the 152-yard par three 13th hole at Warrington Golf Club in Appleton.

Blinds and shutters businessman Jon Beesley, 43, pulled off the magic feat during a Manchester and District Golf Alliance competition to the delight of fellow players.

Beesley, a key member of the Cheshire team who has also been the county captain for several years, is a member at Warrington as well as The Mere Golf Resort in Knutsford.

“I used a wedge and it was probably the best strike I hit all day,” said Beesley, who started playing the sport as a teenager.

“My playing partners Jordan Massey, Luke Higgins and Lewis Gottlieb all shouted ‘go in the hole’ as it was in the air and then went mental when it went in!

“My previous aces were four at Mere, one at Adlington and the other one on the 12th hole at Warrington.

“I was rewarded for the seventh ace by Alliance President Ian Brooks, who presented a box of balls for my ace which was suitably celebrated at the 19th.”
