WARRINGTON Town gained a solid point on the road against Brackley Town in National League North.
The clash ended 0-0 in Northamptonshire as Yellows aimed to bounce back from Saturday’s 3-0 horror show at home to South Shields.
Both keepers made decent saves when efforts were fired in, but arguably the closest the game came to producing goals was late into the second half.
Yellows shotstopper Dan Atherton was beaten by Danny Newton’s shot on the turn from a low corner, but Peter Clarke was on the spot to clear the danger off the goal-line.
Josh Amis, whose goals off the bench have earned Town some decent results prior to the South Shields defeat, thought he might have done it again in the 88th minute at St James Park.
The skipper raced onto Connor Woods’ through ball and slotted the ball past home keeper Jonny Maxted, but the offside flag went up.
