A BASKETBALL team manager has expressed his pride in title-winning players after confirming his retirement as well as the coach’s departure.
Tiger Flight defeated Tornadoes White 36-20 in the Warrington Sport for All Centres Summer Basketball League Year 9 and 10 Premier Division final at Ball Hall, to the delight of Colin Holce.
“After 15 years being involved in basketball in all sorts of ways I have now decided to retire so my last season finished on a high,” said Colin, whose son Mike was head coach but has elected to study for a degree in game design at Salford University where he will play in their basketball first team.
After winning the Premier League again, the Tigers players vowed to succeed in the final game of the play-offs.
The game was very close at times, with either team being ahead by just a few points, but the Tigers demonstrated their considerable talent and experience under the guidance of Mike and assistant coach Richard Wills to take victory during the closing stages.
“We are very proud of the team’s commitment and determination throughout the seasons and wish them every ongoing success as they move out of the Premier League into the Friday night under 18s under the continued guidance of coach Richard Wills,” said Colin.
