WARRINGTON Rylands should be buoyed by their recent goal-scoring exploits in cup competitions when they entertain Basford United at Gorsey Lane this afternoon, kick-off 3pm.
Neil Reynolds’ men have netted 14 times in their last two outings, their 4-0 success against Ossett United in the FA Trophy last Saturday being topped by the 10-1 destruction of Skelmersdale United in the Liverpool Senior Cup on Tuesday.
Blues had netted three times in their previous four Northern Premier League Premier Division games.
They badly need three points to start rising up the table, as they are currently only two points clear of the foot of the ladder - and the bottom two teams, Blyth Spartans and FC United, have games in hand.
Basford, who start the day in 11th, have scored at least two goals in each of their last four away games.
They came through a tricky home FA Trophy tie last Saturday, beating Anstey Nomads 5-3 on penalties after the score was 1-1 at full-time.
After the game today, a fireworks display will be taking place.
Due to start at 6pm, free entry will be available to all from 5.30pm.
Food and drink will be on sale.
