A NEW head coach and new name has been confirmed for Latchford Albion’s open-age amateur rugby league team.
The senior side has been renamed Latchford Albion Giants ARLFC as they rejoin forces with the Latchford Giants junior section, ahead of the 2025 season.
Taking charge of the new formation will be Sean Bond, who has accepted the role as open-age head coach with immediate effect.
By enhancing the connectivity throughout the club, a spokesman says this allows for a much clearer pathway and progression throughout the Giants junior system, allowing players to naturally progress to becoming an Albion open-age player.
Bond has more than 15 years coaching experience, with established links with both the junior sections and under 18s in 2024.
Bond said: “I am looking forward to the challenge and implementing my coaching ethos and team plans for the 2025 season.
“I have no doubt it will be a challenging period of rebuilding but my focus will be to get back to basics and drive the open-age team forward as one club. Training will resume very soon.”
More details will follow over the coming weeks regarding Bond’s coaching structure and support.
