WHAT a brilliant catch this is by six-year-old Alfie Sutton.
The Cherry Tree Primary School pupil landed the 14lb 2oz mirror carp at Meadow View Fisheries in Lymm while camped out overnight earlier this month.
It is the heaviest fish Alfie has landed, although his previous best of 13lbs 8ozs was pretty good, too!
Alfie did everything from getting the carp to bite, to getting it to the margins where his dad Aaron Wood helped him to net it.
He has been fishing consistently for around two-and-a-half years, but he did some fishing off the family’s canal boat before wanting to put his ‘all’ into the sport.
Alfie says that all the pocket money he has saved up is for his own fishing set-up.
He has the biggest of dreams when it comes to fishing and beating that personal best!
