THERE was plenty of Warrington Athletics Club success at Sunday’s North West Road Relays, with county and regional titles won.

In total, there were one north west title and three Cheshire titles picked up by the Victoria Park-based club, who had 18 teams competing on the day at Edge Hill University.

Leading the way was the imperious under 11s boys A team of Sebastian Hughes, Alex Farrell and Alfie Furnival, who combined for a total time of 20mins 56secs to win their race and secure top spot in the north west as a whole.

The Warrington boys were dominant in the age group with the B team of Daniel Kelly, Leonard Broadhurst and Hugo Stanford placing second in Cheshire while the C team of Benjamin Noone, Alex Roberts and Oliver Noone were fourth in the county.

Also coming top of the Cheshire rankings were the under 11s girls A team of Emilia Gandy, Ivy Davidson and Ettie Rashud, whose combined time of 24mins 5secs was fifth-fastest in the north west.

Rounding off the victories were the under 17s women, with the A and B teams securing a county “one-two” for the club.

The A team of Esme Heavy (10mins 6secs), Hannah Hull (10mins 59secs) and Imogen Wharton (10mins 4secs) combined to clock 31mins 11secs to place third in the overall north west race while Sinead Gregory (11mins 22secs), Cara Gregory (11mins 39secs) and Sarah Ashcroft (11mins 37secs) teamed up to place ninth in the north west by posting a combined time of 34mins 38secs.
