WALKING tennis is going from strength to strength in Lymm, so much so that a friendly tournament has been created.
Weekly sessions take place at Lymm Manor Road Tennis Club, in the walled garden of Lymm Rugby Club, and are attracting increasing numbers.
This is a fantastic way to stay active while offering a gentler pace of play that is both fun and inclusive.
It involves an hour of playing, followed by refreshments.
Walking tennis is open to everyone and takes place on Thursdays between 1pm and 3pm.
A friendly tournament of three walking tennis clubs, including Manor Road, has also been organised on September 16 at Birchwood Tennis Club.
Couples from that will progress to a county festival of walking tennis in Shrewsbury in October, organised by the Cheshire County Lawn Tennis Association.
