WARRINGTON Rylands’ poor start to the season on their home pitch continued with a 1-0 loss to Prescot Cables.
It was a third defeat in three appearances at Gorsey Lane this campaign as Mark Duffy’s men slipped to third from bottom of the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
Striker John Murphy laid the Cables’ victory with his 60th-minute goal.
Blues, who won 3-0 at Morpeth on Saturday to secure their first league win of the season, created few chances and are now just two points clear of cellar dwellers Matlock Town.
They will switch to knockout football on Saturday as they host Bradford side Thackley in the FA Cup first qualifying round.
