A TEAM called 'Y Not Warrington' emerged victorious in the Dakota Cricket League Cup – a tennis ball outdoor community cricket competition held in Chapelford.
Four teams competed on finals day – organisers Warrington Blasters Club, who fielded two teams, the Greens and the Blues, Winners Warrington and the eventual champions, Y Not Warrington.
The competition ran for 14 weeks at Dakota Park.
Y Not Warrington played well throughout the tournament and were worthy champions.
Runners-up were Winners Warrington and Warrington Blasters Green came third.
Competition was fierce throughout the tournament and there were a series of nail-biting finishes to matches.
There were also some fine individual performances.
Avanish Pandey emerged as the top scorer, followed closely by Syriac John and Vivek Nv.
Praveen Prahlad shone brightly across the full season and Swarn Sandhu and Chandu P followed him closely in the bowling rankings.
The Dakota Cricket League Cup 2024 not only celebrated the players’ love for cricket but also fostered community spirit, bringing together fans and families to support their local teams.
