WARRINGTON Town have moved quickly to secure a new coaching addition ahead of the new National League North season.
Nigel Keogh – who was until recently in post as first-team coach at Ashton United – has been appointed to the same role at Cantilever Park in support of manager Mark Beesley.
Keogh’s appointment comes after Dave Raven, who had been Beesley’s assistant manager since he was appointed as Paul Carden’s successor in November 2021, confirmed on social media earlier this week that he had been removed from his position.
In their first comment on Raven's departure, the club confirmed he had left "following a review of the pre-season programme which led to a decision to restructure the coaching staff" underneath Beesley.
Ashton confirmed in a statement on Monday that Keogh had left Hurst Cross, where he had been since January 2023 in support of manager Steve Cunningham, and his appointment has now been confirmed by Town ahead of their opening-day trip to King’s Lynn Town today.
Keogh has previously spent time in coaching roles at Buxton, Hyde United and Newcastle Town.
