WARRINGTON Players’ Association will be holding a bowling day and social at Tetley Walker, Long Lane, on Saturday.
The event, which is expected to be attended by many former Wire players, is scheduled for a 1pm start, with arrival at 12.30pm.

DARTS:
Teenage Warrington darts sensation Luke Littler shook off his early World Matchplay exit by winning the Cheshire Open at Coppenhall Workingmen’s Club in Crewe at the weekend.
The 17-year-old pocketed £1,000 from the £20 entrance fee after defeating Welshman Dafydd Edwards 6-2 in the men’s singles final, joining the elite company of Nathan Aspinall and Stephen Bunting as winners of the event.
BOWLS:
Both the Silcock and Stan Bann Cup Finals take place this Saturday at Grappenhall Ex-Serviceman’s Club.
First up at noon sees Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association Section C table toppers Bull’s Head taking on second-placed Orford War Memorial.
Following on at 3pm is the Silcock Cup which features a repeat of the 2022 final between Woolston A and St Oswald’s A.
Two years ago St Oswald’s came out on top but Woolston went one better last year when they defeated Alford Hall A.

NETBALL:
Penketh Panthers Netball Club are celebrating their tenth anniversary this year, having grown from one team to more than 20 teams.
They have now been recognised by England Netball and were recently awarded Community Club of the Year at a ceremony in Liverpool.
They have members as young as reception age, through to a walking netball team for older players.
