WARRINGTON Athletics Club’s Chris Fance won track and field events in the Wenlock Olympian Games.
Fance took the gold medal in the 800m at William Brookes Academy in Much Wenlock, Shropshire, clocking 2mins 15.80secs.
And in the shot putt he also clinched gold with a personal best throw of 8.04m.
He had his medals presented to him by former Olympic champion and current triple jump world record holder Jonathan Edwards.
Meanwhile, the club’s under 11 athlete Leonard Broadhurst competed as a guest in the Welsh Youth Development League North Division match held at Deeside Track.
Broadhurst did himself proud, achieving two personal bests and making his competitive debut in another event.
In the 75m he finished fourth with a PB 12.60secs and in the 600m he placed third, also in a best time of 2mins 01.34secs.
He also competed in the shot putt for the first time, achieving ninth position with a throw of 3.03m.
