WARRINGTON Rylands have confirmed a third summer signing as new manager Mark Duffy moves to further bolster his attacking options.

Forward Jake Burton is the latest player to move to Gorsey Lane, with the 22-year-old joining from National League North side Chester.

He joins another forward in Ntumba Massanka and full-back Dylan Dwyer as new boss Duffy, who has confirmed as Blues’ new permanent manager last month, shapes his squad for the 2024-25 campaign.

Burton spent much of last season on loan at NPL West Division side Bootle, scoring six times in 27 appearances as he helped the Bucks to a play-off finish.

Before then, he had a brief spell on loan at Marine – the team who beat Rylands in the NPL Premier Division play-offs before winning promotion to the National League North – but made only five appearances before returning to Chester.

Burton and Massanka will form part of a remodelled forward line at Gorsey Lane, with last season’s leading goalscorer Mo Touray having moved on to join Chorley while Dan Cockerline has joined Stafford Rangers and loanee Djavan Pedro returned to parent club Salford City.

The squad are set to return to pre-season training later this month, with a number of pre-season friendlies set to be announced in the coming days.

One has already been confirmed, with National League side Oldham Athletic to visit Gorsey Lane on Tuesday, July 16.

Meanwhile, former Blues striker Adama Sidibeh enjoyed a dream international debut for Gambia over the weekend.

The frontman, who netted 16 times for Rylands in the first half of last season before earning a move to Scottish top-flight side St Johnstone, scored a header during a victory over the Seychelles.

Indeed, Sidibeh is already being linked to several English clubs including Burnley, Bolton Wanderers, Middlesbrough and Derby County.
