WINNING both races at a meet is a big enough achievement for Warrington’s Stuart Tranter without any added context.

When you consider they were his first outings since suffering a heart attack, however, it makes his achievement even more remarkable.

The Hatton racer has built himself back up again since his cardiac arrest in October and entered the Equipe MG Cup races at Oulton Park earlier this month.

He qualified his Rover 220 Turbo on the front row for the first race, but he had jumped ahead of pole-sitter Peter Bramble by the end of the first lap.

The two of them pulled clear of Ryan Higginbotham in third and Jack Chapman in fourth, with Bramble running just under a second behind.

While Bramble closed in during the final laps, Tranter had the pace to claim the victory.

It was a similar story in the second race, with Tranter and Bramble getting clear and while he was never fully able to shake his rival off, the former stayed clear to make it two out of two.
