BOHAN Dixon has become the second long-serving player to leave Warrington Town in the space of a week.
The midfielder’s departure, however, is much more conventional – Yellows confirmed the 34-year-old would be moving on after a fee believed to be in the region of £4,000 was agreed with Northern Premier League promotion-chasers Macclesfield for his services.
Dixon joins the Moss Rose outfit with immediate effect and becomes the second player to be tempted there from Cantilever Park this season after Luke Duffy joined the Silkmen in August.

> COMMENT: A move to prompt mixed feelings as Town lose a key cog in the machine
Town's statement confirming his departure says the offer put to "cult hero" Dixon by Macclesfield was "one he felt he couldn't turn down."
"Warrington Town have agreed the sale of Bohan Dixon to Macclesfield," the statement read.
"An approach was made earlier this week by the Northern Premier League club.
"Although the club didn't want Bohan to leave, given he is out of contract at the end of the season we gave him permission to talk to the Silkmen.
"At the age of 34, the offer put on the table to Dixon until the end of next season to significantly increase his wage was one he felt he couldn't turn down.
"As a result, the club has been able to negotiate a fee for his services for the remainder of this season.
"Dixon has become a cult hero at Cantilever Park as a mainstay of the team over the past six seasons.
"Everyone at the club wishes Bohan the very best for the future."
The move sees Dixon leave Town just four appearances shy of the 200-mark and with Mitch Duggan’s departure to Vauxhall Motors having been confirmed last week, it means two players with 397 Yellows appearances between them have left the club within days of each other.
After joining ahead of the 2018-19, the former Stockport County man was a key part of the side that reached the ‘super play-off’ final that year, only to lose out to King’s Lynn Town.
He continued to play a pivotal role after Mark Beesley took over as manager from Paul Carden, featuring in both the 2021-22 play-off final loss to Scarborough Athletic and also the dramatic promotion-clinching win over Bamber Bridge the following year.
Dixon has netted 27 goals in his time as a Yellows player including three this season, the last of which came in the recent 2-1 win at Blyth Spartans.
