TWO Warrington swimmers will be representing Wales in an international meet being staged in Switzerland this weekend.
The 57th edition of the Challenge International de Genève (CIG 2024) runs for three days from tomorrow, Friday, at the Vernets Sports Centre.
And looking to make their mark will be former Warriors of Warrington competitors and Great Sankey residents Joe Ashley and Tyler Melbourne-Smith.
Ashley, the son of former Warriors head coach Darren, now swims for the performance squad at City of Liverpool, while Melbourne-Smith is in the swim team at Loughborough University where he has been studying since September.
Melbourne-Smith is expected to compete in the 800m and 1,500m freestyle, while Ashley is due to tackle the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke events.
Ashley broke the Welsh short course national records in December in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events.
