LUCA Narraway will look back fondly on his 2023 karting season.
Competing is the Appleton 11-year-old’s love, but the day he spent out of the driver’s seat at Silverstone was the highlight of his year.
The 11-year-old Broomfield's Junior School student was selected by Motorsport UK to be one of the Grid Kids at the British Grand Prix in July and he had the experience of a lifetime.
He met many of the F1 grid personalities and drivers, including Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt who was filming for his F1 inspired movie set to be released in 2025 – and look out for Luca when it does as he could be in one of the scenes.
For Luca, it was a great reward for all the hard work he puts into his karting.
He completed his sixth full season in the sport and competes in the WERA Tools British Championships intermediate class, which is for 10 to 13-year-old drivers.
He managed some top-10 finishes and performed well.
Luca was part of the Croc team for the first part of the season and was approached to join the Evolve team for the last round and will continue with them into 2024.
He also made a few appearances the Prestigious LGM Championship and was invited to test for FIA F2, F3 team Carlin Motorsport, for their academy.
In 2024 Luca is planning to contest a World Championship event in OK-Junior, a kart racing class for top drivers aged 11 to 15.
