UNSURPRISINGLY, the majority of sporting fixtures scheduled for today have fallen victim to the cold weather.
It was confirmed this morning that Warrington Town's home game against National League North leaders Tamworth has been postponed, with the Cantilever Park pitch frozen as a result of sub-zero temperatures overnight and throughout the week.
The same goes for Warrington Rylands' trip to Bradford Park Avenue in the Northern Premier League Premier Division - while the hosts have an artificial playing surface, the Yorkshire side confirmed the match had been called off due to hazardous conditions in and around the stadium as a result of snow and ice.
Eagle Sports' home fixture against Garswood United was postponed yesterday, although Daten's trip to Billinge New Street has got the go-ahead.
In rugby union, the artificial surface at Lymm's Crouchley Lane home ground means their clash with Preston Grasshoppers can go ahead but all Warrington RUFC fixtures this weekend have been postponed.
