STEVE Watmough enjoyed victory in the British and Irish Masters Cross Country International held at Tollcross Park in Glasgow on Saturday.
Watmough, one of three Warrington Athletics Club runners competing in the event, was second counter for the winning England team in his age group.
In the race for 50-64 year old men, Watmough finished the eight kilometres course 36th in 29mins 27secs, which placed him third in the over 60s category.
Dave Watson finished the 6k race for over 65s in 18th place with 25mins 16secs, placing him 14th in the over 65s age group and second counter for the Wales team that finished fifth.
David Gill, who was selected as a reserve for the England over 65s team, ran in the 6k open race, winning the men’s event in 24mins 55secs.
Esme Heavey competed at Llandaff Fields, Cardiff, in the British Athletics Cross Challenge event.
She contested the combined under 17s/under 20s race over a 4450m course, placing 36th overall and 13th in the under 17s age in 17mins 12secs.
Two Warrington AC athletes took on the Warrington Way race over 40 miles circling around the outskirts of Warrington, contested by solo runners, teams of two or four.
In the solo race, Georgina Walker, competing under first-claim club Lymm Runners - the organisers of the race - finished 46th in 6hrs 34mins 5secs which placed her second woman and first over 45s woman.
Caroline Jones competed in a team of four which finished in second place in the teams of mixed men and women, with Caroline tackling the first stage of 10.2 miles which she covered in 1hr 24mins 44secs.
