DAISY Sumpton is a rising talent on the Muay Thai scene.
The 12-year-old from Latchford proved it by recently becoming the IMTF UK Area champion.
In doing so, the Sir Thomas Boteler High School student won her seventh successive fight.
Daisy’s record is even more eye-catching when considering she has only been training properly for 15 months.
But the young fighter from the Warrior Muay Thai gym in Latchford is impressing outside of the ring as well as in it.
Gym co-owner Darren Collins, who is also Daisy’s stepdad, said: “Daisy's recent accomplishments have been nothing short of spectacular.
“Her wins in the ring earned her the opportunity to compete for the coveted IMTF UK Area title.
“The fight was a battle of epic proportions, and Daisy came out on top, winning unanimously.
“Her victory not only crowned her as the IMTF UK Area champion but also solidified her status as one of the most promising fighters in the martial arts community.
“But Daisy's talents extend far beyond the ring.
“She manages to strike a perfect balance between her rigorous training schedule and her academic commitments as she attends Year 9 at Sir Thomas Boteler.
“Daisy's ability to excel both in her studies and in the demanding world of Muay Thai is a testament to her remarkable dedication and time management skills.
“Her achievements are not just about the victories; they are about the journey, the discipline, and the character she displays.
“She has become an integral part of Warrior Muay Thai, embodying the spirit of a true fighter both inside and outside the ring.
“Her humility, sportsmanship, and unwavering dedication are qualities that set her apart.”
Daisy trains at Warrior Muay Thai gym, Loushers Lane, five days a week, honing her skills and pushing her limits.
It is clear to those close to her that that she was born to be a fighter.
As Daisy continues to rise in the world of Muay Thai, she is following in the footsteps of her mother Gemma Collins (nee Buckley), a well-known and respected fighter.
“Daisy is quickly becoming one of the most talked about and upcoming fighters on the scene,” said Darren.
“Her journey is one that inspires not only the martial arts community but everyone who believes in the power of dedication and hard work.
“Daisy's remarkable win streak and her IMTF UK Area title are just the beginning of what promise to be an illustrious career. Warrington is fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated young fighter.”
