WARRINGTON children were among others from all over the country taking part in the annual Matt Fiddes Martial Arts British Championships in Thornbury, near Bristol.
The team from Cheshire, which included Callen Bewley, Saatvik Bahl, Diane Reid, Josh Lawton, Anikta and Ashwin Raju from the Great Sankey club based at Barrowhall Primary School, brought home lots of medals.
Chief instructor Steve James said: “ I am so so proud of everyone that entered.
"For some it was their first competition and to show so much confidence was really great to see.”
The students competed in drills which included kicking techniques, hand coordination moves and light contact sparring.
Great Sankey's competitors won four gold medals, three silvers and two bronze in a competition with more than 400 entrants.
