LONGFORD born Jesse Lingard is set to leave Nottingham Forest at the end of his lucrative one-year deal.
The former England international will be departing the City Ground this summer, after a mixed season in which stock will have fallen considerably.
Lingard, who went to Beamont Community High School, joined Forest last season as part of their huge influx of new stars.
In doing so he turned down a return to West Ham, where he had a mini career revival on loan in 2021, in favour of a high paying contract with Forest.
The gamble did not work out however, with the star making just 20 appearances across all competitions, scoring no league goals, and featuring just four times in 2023.
Despite this, Forest managed to beat the odds and stay up, after making 22 signings by the end of summer and 30 by the end of January.
Lingard’s career has seen a significant downfall since his starring role in England’s run to the World Cup in 2018.
Scoring a goal against Panama and starting in midfield throughout Southgate’s near World-Cup success, he now finds himself looking for his third club in three years.
Whilst he is still only 30, the Longford born lad will need to pick his next club carefully in an effort to revive his career.
