WARRINGTON Cheer Storm members have been busy of late and are gearing up for their next event.

The cheerleading club, based in the same location as Urban School of Gymnastics off Slutchers Lane, has had members in their eight different competition teams participating in three events over the past four weeks.

They were in Worcester, Manchester and most recently in Stoke-on-Trent.

The age range across the various teams was from seven to early 50s, with some competing for the first time.

Several first, second and third places were achieved and the athletes are now working hard towards their next competition in mid March when they travel to Birmingham for the Super Regional Championships.

The club are keen to attract more to their number.

Cheerleading is a combination of gymnastics, dance and cheers.

It is considered a fantastic way to get active while promoting a positive, healthy lifestyle, as well as it being a great way to make friends.

Head coach Angeline Rees said: "Having a dedicated sprung floor as well as a dead floor space is great preparation for all athletes.

"We have also recently added to our coaching staff and provide an opportunity for athletes to become junior coaches also.

"We will shortly be accepting new members to our teams and our recreational teams are also filling up, so if anyone would like to join, do get in touch."
