A SUCCESSFUL Warrington club with teams preparing to compete in international competitions are looking for a permanent home and sponsorship support.

Ten teams, consisting of athletes from age four to 40-plus, from Rising Stars contested the British Cheerleading Association Super Classic in Worcester at the weekend, achieving first, second, third, fifth and seventh places at various levels.

To achieve these results, the club's coaches and performers go to considerable lengths just to be able to train.

Currently, Rising Stars Cheerleading hire the Wire Gymnastics Club and a school hall for their practice sessions.

The coaches and athletes have to build a full-size sprung floor every weekend and a track every week, which is a lot of hard work and time consuming.

Having become so good at this process a few hours of floor building has been reduced to an amazing 45 minutes to set up each time, but they would still benefit from a permanent home and are looking for anyone who can help.

They need a minimum space for a full-size cheerleading floor of 17m x 13m, with a minimum height of 5m.

For some of the club's competitors in Worcester it was further preparation for representing the town overseas.

The club's Planet X team are due to compete at the Cheersport American National Championships in Atlanta, next month.

And then in April, the Midnight and Twilight, were selected teams have been selected to represent the UK in the IASF Cheerleading World Championships in Orlando.

Each athlete has to pay for their own trip, which is going to cost more than £2,000 each.

The club are looking for sponsors, whether that be a contribution towards the cost of the trip, or team kit to wear during the events.
