MARK Beesley is set for a milestone match in charge of Warrington Town on Saturday.

Saturday’s trip to Guiseley will be his 50th game as Yellows manager, a little under a year after taking charge at Cantilever Park.

Having been assistant manager to Paul Carden for five years, Beesley took the top job in November 2021 when Carden left to take over at National League North side AFC Telford United.

He has overseen 49 matches in all competitions since then, leading Town to the brink of promotion last season only to fall at the final hurdle in losing to Scarborough Athletic in the Northern Premier League Premier Division play-off final.

After a stuttering start to this season, a run of five wins in seven games has them sixth in the league table and into the second round proper of the FA Trophy.

Town have won 21 of Beesley’s games in charge – giving him a win ratio of just under 43 per cent – with 14 draws and 14 defeats.
