WARRINGTON rower Lucy Glover and her Great Britain teammates will get another chance to keep their Olympic Games medal hopes alive.
The former Lymm High School student and Warrington Rowing Club member was in action early this morning in the women's quadruple sculls heats, but they could not qualify their boat immediately for the final at Tokyo's Sea Forest Waterway.
Glover was in the stroke seat as Team GB came third in their heat, finishing behind Germany and the Netherlands who go straight into the A final.
In order to keep themselves in with a shout of a medal, the foursome – which also includes Hannah Scott and sisters Mathilda and Charlotte Hodgkins-Byrne – must win a repechage race, which is scheduled for 2.50am UK time on Sunday morning.
They will be up against New Zealand, the United States, Italy, Australia and France.
Only the winners will progress to the A final – scheduled for 2.10am UK time on Tuesday – while the rest will contest the B final shortly before (1.50am UK time, Tuesday).
