A PROMISING race at Oulton Park ended in agonising fashion for Warrington’s Steven Parker.
He brought his BMW Compact to the Cheshire circuit for the CNC Heads championship and had a great qualifying session in Class E, putting the car second on the grid behind reigning champion James Cryer.
Parker made an excellent start but was forced to retire the car after just three laps to bring his chances of victory to an end.
He will now hope the difficulties can be ironed out for the next round of the championship at Cadwell Park.
