HOLLY Lam-Moores produced her most influential performance of London 2012 in this morning's 31-25 defeat by Angola.

The 22-year-old from Orford netted five goals for TeamGB women's netball team in the fourth successive loss.

Lam-Moores, who has been nursing an injury, played more minutes than in the previoous games at the Copper Box and showed why she has proved to be hot property for professional clubs on the continent.

Although she put an early opportunity wide, the left winger capitalised on a breakaway in the ninth minute to leave her team just 5-4 behind the African champions.

The world championships quarter finalists threatened to get away from TeamGB with three goals on the trot but Lam-Moores stemmed the tide when she cut in from the flank and fired home her fifth goal of the Olympics tournament to cut the gap to 8-5.

A double save from the Angolian keeper, the second from Lam-Moores' low shot, prevented the Warrington woman from cutting the gap further and Team GB soon found themselves 14-7 behind.

But TeamGB rallied and Lam-Moores was among the goals again from a quick break to leave the score at 14-10 at half time.

Lam-Moores was not on court again until the final six minutes of the game, when Team GB were trailing 30-21.

She swooped on a lovely floated pass and all in one movement powered the ball into the net top show TeamGB were not giving up the fight.

A minute later she sold a lovely dummy before pulloing back the trigger to blast home her fifth goal as the margin was cut to seven goals with three minutes remaining.

TeamGB had left themselves with too much to do, though, and will go into their final group game against Croatia on Sunday knowing that their last chance of qualification for the quarter finals has passed them by.

The result against Angola was TeamGB's best of their debut Olympics and they can take some pride and heart from that into Sunday's bowing out finale.
