WOOLSTON came from behind to win a great game. Chris Naylor and Sam Files each crossed twice for Woolston, whose other try scorer was Dan Plumb. Ben Parr kicked four goals.

CROSFIELDS set the tone of their first match of the season with a try in the first two minutes, building up a lead of 16 unanswered points. Hard running with the ball, some outstanding kicking and determined defence resulted in Crosfields securing the win.

Woolston Rovers u14 34 Rylands u14 26.

WOOLSTON claimed victory in a classic derby' between two tough teams but only after a great comeback from Rylands. Both sides showed what spirit and teamwork are all about. Adam Files bagged a hat-trick of tries to help Woolston claim the spoils.

Crosfields Vipers u13 34 Ashton Bears u13 12.

VIPERS launched their campaign with a well-worked team performance and a particularly good effort in defence from Zach Bennett. Matthew Dowman touched down once and kicked five goals in a player of the match performance.

Woolston Rovers u13 4 Folly Lane u13 16.

WOOLSTON Rovers were ring rusty in their opening game and seemed devoid of ideas despite enjoying the majority of the possession. Folly Lane defended well and took advantage of every opportunity, while Sean Boyle was the only try scorer for Woolston.
