WARRINGTON Triathlon Club is celebrating a world-class achievement by one of its members.
Maria Barrett has added the World Biathle Championship title to the European title she won earlier this year in Spain.
She completed both senior women's two one-mile runs and a 200m open-water swim at Salford in 13mins 32secs.
Her success came four days after finishing third in the women's elite race at the World Aquathlon Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland. She completed the 1,000m open-water swim and 5km run in 32mins 10secs.
Wendy Waters also produced a great performance in the World Triathlon Championships in Lausanne, finishing in the top 20 for her age group after completing the 1,500m open-water swim, 40km cycle and 10km run.
Matt Cullen added to his sucessful year by winning the Rivington Triathlon.
His win also puts him in a good position to win the North West Regional Series Championship with only three races left.
Other members racing included Rob Hough, Helen Thomson and Dave Myers.
