"WARRINGTON Town FC wish to clear up the confusion surrounding the circumstances of the departure of Nick Armitage and Gary Johns from the club and the suggestion that they may have been sacked.
Last week's Warrington Guardian report was based on the information it received from the club but we now wish to make it clear that the decision to part company was a mutual one, as Nick said in last week's report.
Sadly Nick no longer wanted to carry on in his joint managerial partnership with Glenn Walker. He asked the club could he be the sole manager. The committee decided that they wanted the present situation to continue but Nick was adamant that he did not want that and has therefore regrettably left the club.
We would like to thank Nick and coach Gary Johns for the excellent work they did at the end of last season and in helping to keep the club in the UniBond League. They both know that they will be made more than welcome any time they wish to visit Warrington Town FC.
We wish them both every success in the future."
