STEVE Rule has been appointed as Lymm Rugby Union Club’s new director of rugby.
The former rugby union and league player takes over from Richard Boundy, who has gone on to be director of rugby at Sale FC.
Rule, at representative level, played rugby union for English Universities and Cheshire, while at club level played for Loughborough Students RUFC and Sale at fly-half.
Making the switch to league, he played for Wales, Salford and St Helens at full back.
Rule has also coached rugby union for Cheshire and at Sale, Lymm, New Brighton and Macclesfield.
“Whether you are an ‘elite’ player or just want a game of rugby, the aim is to make the rugby experience here second to none.,” he said.
The Warrington outfit finished seventh in their debut campaign in National League Three North, winning 14 of their 26 matches.
They start the new season at home to Bradford & Bingley on Saturday, September 3. A trip to Birkenhead Park then follows.
