BLIND Warrington golfer Duncan Bickerton had mixed success on his England debut in Hampshire.
The 64-year-old from Locking Stumps won one, drew one and lost one during the matchplay event against Scotland, which was played using the same format as the Ryder Cup.
Bickerton was selected for the 12-man English Blind Golf Association to face the Auld Enemy at Meon Valley Golf Club after good performances throughout 2006.
He paired up with Mike Loten in the foursomes but lost 2 and 1 to Scottish duo Mike Mayo and Peter Philip.
The fourballs match between Bickerton and Peter Hodgkinson and the Scottish pair of John Imrie and Gerry Kelly was halved before Bickerton won his singles match against John Miller by one hole.
But that triumph could not give England the result they wanted in the overall match, with Scotland winning 13-11.
