WARRINGTON Wizards host LHF Healthplan National League Three minor premiers Bramley Buffaloes on Saturday needing a win to hang on to second place in the table.

Wizards take on Bramley at Wilderspool at 3.30pm before ending the regular season at St Albans Centurions on September 9, and they are currently level on points with third-placed Hemel Hempstead Stags.

Two victories may be required to seal an all-important place in the top two and make themselves favourites to reach the Grand Final, but they will have a tough task against Leeds side Bramley, who are six points clear at the top.

Wizards have won their last seven games - including a walkover against Gateshead - but have not played since August 5 and Bramley were the last side to beat them in June.

Head coach Eddie Harris said: "The lads are desperate to get back on the field and continue their excellent run and they feel that this is a great opportunity for them to make the rest of the league sit up and take notice.

"Bramley are a super side, well coached by Paul Cook and they will want to knock our confidence before a possible play-off encounter.

"We must take control of the game early on and keep our shape and discipline.

"If we can do that we will have a great chance."

He added: "We have managed to get ourselves into a great position with our recent run and it would be a shame if that come unstuck now.

"We have two league games left and if we want to hold on to second spot then we cannot afford to slip up in any of those, otherwise Hemel Hempstead Stags will be only too happy to capitalise."

Harris should have the luxury of a full squad of 24 to choose from for the game.

Free admission for the match is available to all Warrington Wolves fans able to produce their season ticket at the entrance.
