Appleton’S women sent out a strong message to the rest of the Twenty20 West Division as they stormed to their second nine-wicket win in a week against New Brighton.
Tigers blew away the Brighton order, sending them all back to the pavilion for just 12 runs. Holly McCurrie and Jenny Clarke took three wickets each before Tigers eased home in less than three overs.
Oakmere proved tougher opposition, putting on 171 for 7 from their 40 overs.
Natalie Long and Annie Rashid took the wickets in their second spells, while Appleton paced their run chase perfectly with Amy Page and Natalie Lyons seeing them to victory with an over to spare.
