I'M told that Saturday was my 60th successive appearance for Warrington Wolves but I had to come off against Harlequins because of a bang to my knee.

It has been good to get all of those games under my belt and I've been pretty lucky, touch wood, because a lot of guys have been very unfortunate with injuries.

Hopefully, Monday's scan results mean the injury is not as bad as it feels. I had a brace on my knee and it was certainly giving me a bit of grief but I'm staying positive.

I don't necessarily feel that this weekend's rest for the team is a bad thing because there are a few guys carrying knocks, and a week of recovery ahead of the Leeds game on September 1 should do the team good.

Saturday's result was pleasing. It was a tough forward slog and with losing big Rah with 20 minutes to go the boys had to dig in. I think we were all pretty proud of the effort.

Although we have no game this weekend, St Helens and Huddersfield Giants do.

They will be contesting the Powergen Challenge Cup Final at Twickenham on Saturday and I think I'll have to go with Saints to win.

Huddersfield can lift for games every now and then, like they did against Leeds in the semi final, and if they can do that again they'll make a real game of it and make it tough for Saints.

And whether or not Chris Thorman plays for Huddersfield will be an important factor in which way the cup will be heading. It will also come down to which set of forwards get on top to set the platform.

One of the hardest things to do is to watch a final like this one because of the disappointment you feel at not being involved yourself, although I'm sure I'll get to see some of it.

I guess it would be good for the game, like some people are saying, if Huddersfield win but I don't really look at it like that.

I just feel that the team that plays the best on the day deserves to win and, with Saints having been the best side all year, they deserve to be installed as favourites.

Some of you may have noticed from an announcement on Monday that I am being considered for the Wales team that will be playing in the 2008 World Cup qualifiers at the end of this season against Scotland in Bridgend and against Russia in Moscow.

It would be exciting to be a part of it but it will obviously depend on how I am with injuries, what my schedule is in the off season and the powers that be.

My Welsh link is on my grandfather's side, with a long line on that side of the family and I'd be happy to play for Wales.
