TWO members of Warrington Athletics Club will compete against each other at the World Mountain Running Championships in Turkey next month.
Alison Patrick and Heather Timmins will both be on the starting line in the under 20s race in Bursa on September 10 after qualifying at trial events but they will be in opposition - with Patrick representing Scotland and Timmins running for England.
Patrick, aged 18, booked her place in Turkey after finishing second in the Scottish uphill only fell race at Aviemore.
She is partially sighted and has also been selected to represent Great Britain in the 1,500m at the International Paralympic Committee World Championships in the Dutch city of Assen between September 2 and September 9.
Timmins is only 16 but also qualified for the under 20s race after finishing third in an event at Snowdon in Wales, which doubled up as trials for the English and Welsh teams.
She will be looking to round off a promising year on her debut international appearance, having previously become the 3,000m champion for the north of England at under 17s level.
