JACK Grimoldby is due to make his debut for the English Schools golf team next month.
The 18-year-old from Fearnhead is in the squad to face Scotland at Hillside Golf Club in Southport on September 18.
Grimoldby, who finished at Padgate High School at the end of last term, qualified after his fourth-place finish in the English Schools' Championship at Belton Park Golf Club.
He has maintained his form since selection and finished third in the men's Haydock Golf Club Championship at the weekend.
Grimoldby, who plays off a handicap of one and is the current junior champion at Birchwood Golf Club, was a runner up in last month's Lancashire Schools Championship with a score of 71, while his schoolmate Rob Kenwright was the winner of the nett championship with 64 after a round of 73.
Together, they took the team gross title by three shots.
