GRANGE'S two senior teams got the better of their respective Cheshire Building Society Cricket Alliance matches against Langley.

The first team bagged 13 points in a home draw, while the seconds secured an away win.

Grange's first XI posted 226 for 4 declared on the back of a brilliant 101 not out from Adam Brogan.

Langley slumped to 64 for 4 and Grange's determination to force a win led to captain Matt Wilcock trying several experiments with his bowling that were designed to keep Langley interested.

But they did not work and the game drifted towards a tame draw.

Grange second XI's bowling attack dismissed Langley for only 167 despite the absence of both their leading bowlers.

Mike Smith and Simon Eagles took three wickets each.

Grange's Neil Stinson, who made 25, and Dave Robertson, who struck 29, gave them a solid start in reply, while a solid knock from in-form captain Alan Ayling, 36 not out, took them over the line.
