WARRINGTON’S newest gym club won medals at the annual Cheshire and Merseyside competion.

Wire Gymnastics Club, based at Birchwood High School, are celebrating their success just 10 months after starting out.

Latisha Gemmell, who secured gold on the floor, was crowned the 2010 Cheshire and Merseyside champion at under 11s level.

Bethan Sullivan, the gold medallist on the vault, clinched an overall silver medal in the under 11s age group, while Amy Johnson finished as the overall bronze medallist at under 10s level.

Atlanta Westwood secured gold on the floor, while Maisie Price achieved silver on the floor.

Other competing gymnasts were Holly Doherty, Beth Brown, Georgia Westwood, Carla Barrick, India Mains, Kate Sweeney and Mollie Walker.
