STOCKTON Heath-based driver Neil Patten finished second in the Creative LED Solutions Formula Ford Championship at Oulton Park.
After lying in third position for much of the race, Patten moved up a place in his Van Diemen RF99 to finish just seven seconds behind the race leader as the chequered flag dropped.
John Farrell from Warrington also tasted success by achieving third place in his Formula Ford Championship race.
Farrell had qualified his Reynard in third place and his steady drive was rewarded with a place on the podium.
Warrington’s Kevin Begley competed in the Drivers Republic Caterham Roadsport Championship, finishing 10th in his first race of the day.
In the day’s second Caterham race, Begley finished 14th.
