WARRINGTON Athletics Club runners were in action at the Junior Fell Racing Championships at Shutlingsloe.
The England representative duo of Rachel Jefferson and James Ellis were medal winners over the two-mile course, ascending 880ft in the process.
Rachel took third place in the under 18s women’s event, while James took the runner up spot in the under 18s men’s event only 10 seconds behind the winner.
In the under 12s boys’ event run over a shorter 1.1 mile course with a 390ft ascent, Liam Burthem finished in sixth place.
Meanwhile, Warrington’s Liam Thompson finished in sixth place at the Sale Harriers five mile road race at Wythenshawe Park, Manchester.
Thompson’s time of 26mins 4secs is very close to his personal best and sets him up nicely for the Bowdon 5km road race tonight, Thursday.
