POSTMAN Ian Mason delivered the goods with a first-class 79 as Rylands posted a massive 191-run win against Stalybridge in Cheshire Alliance Division One on Saturday.

Richard Buck, 69, chipped in to help Rylands to 221 for 3 off 48 overs.

In reply, some fine swing bowling from Sean Malone, 5 for 12, and Adam Peters, 5 for 6, skittled Stalybridge to 30 all out.

The following day, Rylands entertained Norbury in the Cheshire Cup.

Buck weighed in with a well-crafted 92 to see Rylands to 228 for 6 from 40 overs.

Malone was among the wicket takers again, taking 4 for 15 from eight overs, as Norbury crumbled to 77 all out in their innings.

Rylands were victors by 151 runs.

Rylands’ second XI travelled to Heaton Mersey Village in their Division Four fixture and some hostile bowling by Sujith, 5 for 42, and Steve Howarth, 3 for 6, reduced Village to 117 all out.

Only Geoff Shaw, 30, made double figures as some rash stroke-play saw Rylands capitulate to 63 all out, losing by 54 runs.
